Thank you Team NEAHMA!

On behalf of the Board of Directors and volunteers at The Ruth Project, thank you to all who donated cell phones and cartridges at the Annual Conference. We also thank those who expressed interest in becoming drop-off sites for collecting cell phones as a way to raise funds for the work we do assisting women in need.
The timing is perfect, as we continue to meet new women in need of jobs, housing, food, clothing and much more. Through Team NEAHMA, we have already generated over $500 this year from cell phone donations!
Thank you, Julie, Dee, Victoria, and all involved in putting together a great conference and for allowing The Ruth Project to be part of it.
Sue Johnson

We congratulate all the children who were part of the Drug Free Poster Contest and thank the staff and volunteers at NEAHMA who made the day a huge success!

NOTE OUR NEW ADDRESS: Effective June 1st, The Ruth Project will be operating from a new location at 516 Newport Avenue in Attleboro, MA. Our mailing address remains the same: PO Box 64, North Attleboro, MA 02761. We are excited to be located directly on the public transportation line, making access to our services and resources easier for women in need.

This is the mission of The Ruth Project: to walk with women in need in the greater Attleboro-Taunton area. The Ruth Project is located at 516 Newport Avenue, Attleboro, Massachusetts. Volunteers at The Ruth Project assist women who have faced issues of crime, homelessness, and separation from their children, as well as poverty, addiction, and abuse.

The program provides comprehensive services such as mentoring, job skills development, and affordable housing plans, to allow women in need to face and overcome the issues in front of them.

In Bristol County there are more than 30,000 women living below the poverty level. Some 50,000 women have not received a high school diploma. The average wait for affordable housing is 3 -7 years. The Ruth Project opened the doors of its Resource Center in March 2007 to provide direction, resources, and mentoring for women in need.
Since opening, volunteers have placed job listings in the hands of unemployed single mothers and worked with women on developing sound job skills, including developing resumes and interviewing techniques. We have made available a directory of affordable housing and applications in the hands of women who were forced to leave abusive situations and have walked through the application process with women in need of affordable housing. Our directory of housing resources continues to grow, ranging from emergency shelters to rehabilitation programs, to transitional housing, and affordable housing. Volunteers have assisted women in returning back to school. We have worked together with area agencies so that women and children have received clothing and food. Recovery and restoration programs have helped women who struggle with addiction, affliction or abuse.
